How to check hardware usage consumed by a process of a website in Plesk
Why It Matters
Monitoring hardware usage (CPU, memory, disk I/O) in Plesk helps you spot resource-heavy website processes, optimize performance, and keep your server running smoothly.
Quick Steps
- Log in to Plesk
Access Plesk with admin credentials.
Tip: Reset credentials via your hosting provider if login fails.
- Open Process List
Go to Tools & Settings > Process List (under Assistance and Troubleshooting).
Note: If Process List is missing, install the Repair Kit Plesk Extension: Navigate to Extensions > Extensions Catalog > Search “Repair Kit” > Install. Enable it in My Extensions.
- Focus on Website Processes
Check Domains only to filter out system processes and focus on website tasks.
- Sort and Identify Issues
- Click column headers to sort by:
- CPU Usage: Find processes overloading the processor.
- Memory Usage: Spot memory-intensive tasks.
- Disk I/O (Read/Write): Detect heavy disk activity.
Example: High CPU usage might indicate a faulty script or plugin.
