How to check hardware usage consumed by a process of a website in Plesk

Why It Matters

Monitoring hardware usage (CPU, memory, disk I/O) in Plesk helps you spot resource-heavy website processes, optimize performance, and keep your server running smoothly.

Quick Steps

  • Log in to Plesk
    Access Plesk with admin credentials.

Tip: Reset credentials via your hosting provider if login fails.

  • Open Process List
Go to Tools & Settings > Process List (under Assistance and Troubleshooting).

Note: If Process List is missing, install the Repair Kit Plesk Extension: Navigate to Extensions > Extensions Catalog > Search “Repair Kit” > Install. Enable it in My Extensions.

  • Focus on Website Processes
Check Domains only to filter out system processes and focus on website tasks.

  • Click column headers to sort by:
    • CPU Usage: Find processes overloading the processor.
    • Memory Usage: Spot memory-intensive tasks.
    • Disk I/O (Read/Write): Detect heavy disk activity.

Example: High CPU usage might indicate a faulty script or plugin.
