How to Create a Full Backup from cPanel

Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  • Open your web browser and go to your cPanel login URL (e.g., https://yourdomain.com:2083).
  • Enter your username and password to log in.

Step 2: Find the Backup Option

  • Once logged in, search for “Backup” in the search bar at the top.
  • Click on the Backup icon from the results.

Step 3: Generate a Full Backup

  • In the Backup section, scroll down to the Full Backup section.

  • Click on “Download a Full Account Backup”.
  • On the next screen, click “Generate Backup”.

  • You will see a message: “Full Backup in Progress …” – this means the backup process has started.

Step 4: Wait for Backup to Complete

  • The backup process may take several minutes depending on the size of your data.
  • Once the backup is ready, you will see it under the Backups Available for Download section.

Step 5: Download the Backup

  • In the Backups Available for Download section, click on the backup file link (usually a .tar.gz file) to download it to your computer.
